Newchurch Male Voice Choir
The choir started out in 1967 as a happy accident when a local group of men agreed to fill in at a concert after the organisers were let down by one of the acts at the last minute.
The choir developed over the following 40 years or so under various Musical Directors to a choir of around 40 voices today, with Roy Bevan taking over the role of MD since 2001.
The choir performs at between 12-18 concerts each year with the money raised going to various good causes and charities.
Over the years the choir has been a regular entrant and winner at the Isle of Wight Musical Festival. One highlight in 2009 was singing at the Bestival music festival.
The current chairman of the choir is Don Emery ,the Treasurer is Rod Riddell and the secretary is Sheelah Stephens.
The accompanist is Jenny Riddell.
To request a concert please contact Sheelah Stevens but please be aware we take bookings well in advance!
Details of future concerts can normally be found on the Newchurch village website
